Project Description

The Density-Based Traffic Management System is a cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) solution designed to optimize traffic flow at junctions by dynamically allocating green signal durations based on lane density. Utilizing real-time data collected from strategically placed sensors and cameras, the system continuously monitors vehicle density in each lane approaching intersections.

When congestion is detected, the system adjusts the timing of traffic signals, extending the green light duration for the most congested lanes to alleviate traffic buildup and improve overall flow. This innovative approach not only reduces waiting times for vehicles but also minimizes fuel consumption and emissions, contributing to a greener urban environment.

The implementation of this system can significantly enhance road safety, decrease travel times, and provide a more efficient traffic management strategy in urban areas. By integrating IoT technology with intelligent traffic signal control, the Density-Based Traffic Management System represents a crucial advancement in smart city infrastructure.
